Las Coloradas Pink Lake & Río Lagartos Flamingo Tour from Cancún
4.6 · 108 reviews
Pink water, wild flamingos, and ancient Mayan mud — all in one day.
The water at Las Coloradas is actually pink — a natural phenomenon caused by microorganisms and mineral salts that concentrate in the shallow lagoons along the northern Yucatán coast. It's one of the most photographed spots in Mexico, and seeing it in person is still a surprise.
From there, the tour continues to Río Lagartos Biosphere Reserve — a protected ecosystem of mangroves, estuaries, and wild beaches where flamingos gather in flocks. You'll board a boat through the mangroves with a bilingual certified guide, spotting flamingos, pelicans, herons, and crocodiles in their natural habitat.
Along the way: a traditional Mayan clay bath in the mineral-rich mud of the estuary, a dip in the shallow water, and a full lunch at a local restaurant with seafood, ceviche, and regional dishes (vegetarian and vegan options available). Hotel pickup from Cancún and the Riviera Maya included.
